At our dental practice, we specialize in saving teeth. Our top-notch endodontist, Dr. Michael I. Feinberg, can help you if you experience dental trauma and have a resulting dislodged tooth. Additionally, if you are experiencing Flatbush oral pain, you should make an immediate appointment to come to our endodontic practice, Michael I. Feinberg.
At our practice, our endodontist can help you with Flatbush oral pain or by providing emergency endodontic care for teeth that have experienced trauma. Two common trauma injuries of teeth are when teeth are dislodged or avulsed. When a tooth is dislodged, it means that the tooth has been pushed back into its socket. This can happen when there is tooth trauma during some type of accident, or even sports participation. If the tooth is partially pushed out of its socket, our endodontist may be able to reposition the tooth. This will stabilize the tooth, and hopefully save the tooth. Our dentist will need to check that the pulp is remaining healthy, and if this occurs, no additional treatment will be necessary. But if our endodontist determines that the pulp is becoming damaged or infected, a root canal treatment will be required. Root canal treatment is effective in saving teeth in over 90% of cases; it can be performed while our patient remains perfectly comfortable in our dentist’s chair due to our use of state-of-the-art equipment and techniques, and modern dental anesthesia. When root canal treatment is necessary, it is usually started just a few weeks after the initial injury has occurred. At a later time, a permanent root canal filling will be placed and the root canal system will be sealed. When a tooth is avulsed it has been knocked out of your mouth. In this case, contact our office immediately and let our office staff provide you with the safest way to transport the tooth to our office.
If you have a dislodged or avulsed tooth, or Flatbush oral pain, contact our office for an immediate appointment.
